CREDO
The imprinted flags relate to the Rosetta Stone language-learning app, which promises intuitive language learning, as well as to the historic Rosetta Stone of 196 B.C. The latter displayed text in three scripts, where understanding two scripts enabled deciphering the third.
The first flag bears the words: MY MOTHER TONGUE IS ASAP - an inner credo and instrument that expresses the expectation of immediate response and rapid completion.
The second flag proclaims: MY SECOND LANGUAGE IS BRB - be right back, an allusion to juggling between identities, roles, and ways of communicating.
On the third flag, the message turns to the Rosetta Stone to teach a new language, a new tool: NOT GONNA LIE, AT THE MOMENT I DON'T KNOW, PLEASE DO IT YOURSELF.
In analogy to the historical Rosetta Stone, the work reflects two already internalized responses of the artist. The decoding of the third component remains open.
